It took me about an hour to figure out how to get emoji to display on my phone, and it doesn’t seem to play well with my browser, so I’m not much of a player in this game. [Hyperallergic]

Richard Artschwager has died. This saddens me. His retrospective of paintings and sculptures at The Whitney was one of the best shows I saw last year. A great Artschwager quote, key to understanding his work from the Times’ obit; “Sculpture is for the touch, painting is for the eye. I wanted to make a sculpture for the eye and a painting for the touch.” [NYTimes]
