Where Are They Now?
Julia Halperin is a senior at Columbia University majoring in English literature and art history. She interned at AFC during the summer of 2009 and now is an intern for The New York Observer. She writes the Observer’s weekly art world round-up column “Art Snapshot” and a weekly art news column, “ArtObserver.” She was the arts and entertainment editor of the Columbia Daily Spectator and the art editor of Columbia’s arts and features magazine, The Eye. Julia enjoys correcting minute copy errors and putting Tabasco sauce on her food.

Dave Harper is Curator of Visual Art (BAMart) at the Brooklyn Academy of Music where he oversees both exhibitions and a fundraising program. He studied fine art and art history at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston (B.F.A. 2004) and Pratt Institute, Brooklyn (M.S. 2006). He has worked in various capacities at New York galleries, non-profits, and arts institutions, including the New Museum, prior to joining BAM. Besides being the first Curatorial Fellow at Art Fag City, he currently works as a freelance curator, adviser and writer and serves on the board of trustees for NURTUREart Non-Profit in Brooklyn, NY.
Michelle Halabura hails from Pittsburgh, PA, and was born and raised in Pottsville, Pa., which is also the birthplace of Yuengling beer. You’re welcome. When Michelle was not at Art Fag City she is working to manage art projects and artists, all the while having more fun and less sleep than should be allowed. She continues to pursue these projects as she works to receive her Masters from Sotheby’s.
Liza Eliano is a native New Yorker and proud of it. She is an art history major at Barnard College and writes for the A&E section of the Columbia Daily Spectator. After studying abroad in Rome last semester, she has a newfound appreciation for nude sculptures and bad pop music. In her spare time Liza loves going to free concerts and free museums (she’ll take free food too), and also tries to convince people that New Yorkers are nice people. Sometimes.
Marina Galperina interned at AFC during the fall and winter of 2009. She now blogs at Animal New York and Spinner.
