If you’re looking for a stint in sunny LA, this 18th-month fellowship could be your ticket. UCLA’s Hammer Museum needs a curatorial fellow to help put together an exhibit on Latin American women artists from the 60s-80s. They want a doctoral or post-doctoral candidate in art history who knows 20th century Latin-American art to help with research for the exhibit. Also be prepared for heavy logistical tasks like making loan requests and organizing meetings. It’s an 18-month full-time contract position with benefits, starting this November, and it’s in California.

Associate Curator of Architecture and Design at the Metropolitan Museum, New York, NY
The Met’s Modern and Contemporary department has an opening for a specialist in 20th and 21st century architecture, design, and art. The Associate Curator will be actively involved in the department’s collection, exhibitions, and museum publications. It’s not a big department, but you’ll be working in the most beautiful building in New York.

The oldest continuously running artist colony in America is looking for a new director. Byrdcliffe is an art center with a broad program of contemporary exhibits, concerts, and art classes–and it’s in Woodstock. You’ll be responsible for the artistic, historical preservation, and educational programming in addition to fundraising, fiscal management, community relations, and supervising a staff of six. So they need someone with at least 5 years of experience in a senior management position that knows how to manage finances. Your salary would fall in the $60,000-$75,000 range.

Program Associate, Artist Residencies at The Lower Manhattan Cultural Council (LMCC), New York, NY
Get to know some cool emerging artists by working at the LMCC. The LMCC is a non-profit community organization that promotes visual, performing, and literary art and as a Program Associate, you’ll have a hand in all aspects of the residency program. Tasks will include coordinating residency applications, managing artist intake and orientation, and being present at public events, of which there are many. A lot of artists pass through their residency programs, including, notably, the dance companies Faye Driscoll, General Mischief and Trisha Brown.
