Cutlog, New York’s Newest Art Fair, Releases Exhibitor List

New York has a new and oddly-named art fair. “Cutlog”, a French fair, has announced that it will debut its arsenal of galleries at a former public school this May. The fair coincides with New York’s second wave of spring art fairs including, Frieze, NADA, Pulse amongst others.

In general, we’re not sure what to expect with New York’s newest art fair. Cutlog has been touted as the Lower East Side’s “first art fair”, but considering that the Dependent had been held in the Lower East Side for the last two years and primarily hosted LES galleries, and this spring, NADA will launch a fair near the East Broadway stop, that claim seems dubious.

Regardless, we’re excited to see what’s in store from the fair’s co-directors Bruno Hadjadj (a film guy) and Guy Reziciner (an architect guy), if for no other reason than we’re not familiar with many galleries on the exhibitor list. It’s a good way to get introduced to new art. L’Aléatoire, House of the Nobleman and L’InLassable Gallery are each names we haven’t heard before on the New York fair circuit. More familiar exhibitors include The Hole, Microscope Gallery, and Front Room.
