Wienerfest Surprise! Jay Batlle’s Menu and Auction Item

by Corinna Kirsch on December 13, 2012 · 0 comments Wienerfest

We’ve got just four days left until Wienerfest. With tongs in tow and mustard at the ready, artists Jay Batlle and Michael Mahalchick will duke it out to create AFC’s signature wiener. They’ll be cooking their tasty meatibles throughout the event, and anyone with a ticket can chow down on as many dogs as they desire. Get ready to get fat and happy.

In the days leading up to the best ever hot dog party and fundraiser, we’ll be unveiling surprise guests and silent auction items. This morning’s special announcement gets us one step closer to selecting AFC’s signature wiener: we’re giving you the details of artist-chef Jay Battle’s hot dog menu and we’re unveiling his auction item.

And now, get ready to wet your whistle with Jay Batlle’s menu (previously revealed on ANIMAL):

Paul McCarthy Pig Fucker Dog
BBQ sauce and pulled pork on a classic dog in a bun

Agnes Martin Minimalist Dog
Hot dog with the perfect line of ketchup in a classic bun

Koons Balloon Dog Dog
Hot dog-shaped balloon dog with melted cheese and jalapeños

For the silent auction, Batlle has graced us with even more pork-inspired art. Feast your eyes on Pale Blue Eyes, a sassy, comic book dream girl splashed with piglet-pink hues. A row of pigs tactfully obscure her nipples. She is demure, sexy, and porky, and we’re more than alright with that.

Jay Batlle, "Pale Blue Eyes," 2012. Watercolor, ink, and archival inkjet on restaurant stationery. Dimensions: 8.5" x 11"
