These may be less illuminating than the ones issued immediately after the stock market crash in 2008. Let’s take a look.

  • The Armory Show, April 22, 2008 :Another Strong Year for The Armory Show” Preliminary reports of strong sales at this year’s edition of The Armory Show dispelled fears about the economy’s effect on the art market; while the final results won’t be known for a few more weeks, glowing statements from participants point to a healthy market.
  • Pulse Art Fair, April 15, 2008, “PULSE Contemporary Art Fair Debut at Pier 40 Proves a Public, Critical and Commercial Success” PULSE Contemporary Art Fair wrapped up its Pier 40 debut with solid sales, its highest New York attendance to date, and an acclaimed menu of public programs and installations.
  • Scope Art Fair, July 3, 2008, “Scope Basel 2008 highlights” SCOPE Basel 08, the preeminent fair for international emerging contemporary art, reported strong sales and robust attendance for its second edition, solidifying its global position as a leading art world presenter.
  • The Armory Show, March 10, 2009, THE ARMORY SHOW BREATHES LIFE BACK INTO THE ART MARKET. “Solid Sales and record attendance”
