Exhibition Detail: Half the Sky | Skirball Cultural Center – When book deals lead to exhibitions: Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn put together an exhibition of photographs, sound installations and other undescribed interactive gallery experiences for Skirball Cultural Center in LA based on their book reporting on the oppression of women and girls world wide. Not sure how I feel about this as a show concept in general as the chances this show will either be banal or spectacle are high. Also the background of the lead image is completely washed out suggesting a really sub-part photographic standards.
