This is bound to be more representative of NY than a “Greater New York” at PS1 via MOMA. Still when will there be a real survey/cross section of Brooklyn? Probably when shows like this do well.

Documents that were top secret and never meant to be seen are now set to music.

They dedicated the exhibition to Annie Herron which should be admired. Great art teachers like her surely needs artist’s support and praise.

Annie Herron curated scores of exhibitions many of them in Brooklyn. She also championed female artists in particular and was beloved by the Williamsburg art community for her grace & style. She was generous in spirit & rarely turned down the opportunity to do a studio visit. She once told me that “it is essential to give back as much to the artist” as they do during one of her countless visits to artists studios. She became a role model for young curators with her DIY style and high energy. It that respect I guess you could call her an “art teacher” since we all learned from the way she lived her life.
