There’s something lyrical about Sarah E. Wood’s hanging black and white stick sculpture. Minimal and elegant, her sculptures look like the residual of a gesture. And perhaps that’s part of what they are. Wood notes the inspiration for her work began when she started “thinking about the particular gravity of a necklace on a person’s body, building a line in space as a way of emphasizing shifts in weight.” Four of these new works will be on display, so do not miss this show.
