Fridays are no excuse to miss your daily helping of events and we’ve got a two for one serving this week. First off, AFC buddy Hrag Vartanian of Hyperallergic has curated the show “On Display,” at Storefront Gallery in Bushwick, Brooklyn as part of the gallery’s summer series that brings in outside curators to put together shows. The exhibit includes works from artists Sharon Butler, Joy Curtis, and Cathy Nan Quinlan and focuses on different perspectives of abstraction. Check out the opening tonight from 6-9PM (vodka shots included!), or visit the show while its up until August 22nd.

Second up, food trucks are all the rage, so why no one thought of a fish fry/art performance truck by now is beyond me. Luckily artist duo and Cranbook Academy of Art graduates, Paul Outlaw and Jennifer Catron, have transformed their Old Glory into just that. Jen n’ Outlaw’s Fish Fry Truck, complete with hydraulic arms and “pure, raw American Patriotism,” will be roving the streets of Bushwick, Williamsburg, and Chelsea with locations announced periodically throughout the rest of summer and fall. Their video ad of two hicks catching giant fish by putting their fists through them is priceless. The performances have not been announced yet, but the ad promises a good ol’ American time.
