Reflection: 15 Years
Date: Wednesday, June 30th 2010Friday, July 30th 2010
Venue: Casey Kaplan, 525 West 21st St

Survey shows have their problems, but Casey Kaplan’s Reflection: 15 Years provides an exception to the rule. Reflecting upon their long history in the field of art, the show offers one work from each of their 21 represented artists. The well-organized rooms and diverse art in all media make this a worthwhile trip. Highlights include Simon Starling’s giant amoeba-like stainless steel sculptures, which make their New York debut, and Jeff Burton’s unassuming photograph of a car decked out in rhinestones. Newcomer to the gallery, Geoffrey Farmer, also shows his work for the first time— a taste of his solo exhibition opening in 2011.
