Adaptation: Between Species – Reviews – Art in America

  • Adaptation: Between Species – Reviews – Art in America – This is a pretty empty review for a show I haven't heard anything positive about. I didn't think it was quite as bad as most, but it does suffer from curators syndrome: A selection of bad work from the 300 or so artists on the curator-darling list. I'm getting tired of seeing the same artists in every group show. Live a little: There's more than just FastWurms within the Toronto talent pool.

The only other artist in the Toronto talent pool is Luis Jacob, and he’s in every second show there. That’s all you’re going to get because that’s the way we like it here.

I agree about the emptiness of the review, an emptiness that is actually enhanced by the absence of mention of the wurms.

For Toronto artists, Bill Burns seems a good choice for an exhibition of this theme.
