On Saturday, May 15, 2010, the New York art world invades New Jersey in a mass exodus, leaving behind the density of Manhattan for the wide open spaces of Paterson on the other side of the Hudson River.

Curator Olympia Lambert, in collaboration with Paterson Arts Council, presents Escape From New York, an exhibition showcasing the work of 43 top contemporary artists.

On view in a historic former silk factory, the exhibition will include artists working in a broad breath of genres — from painting, video, and photography to installation, sculpture, performance, and social media-based art.

The Opening Reception is scheduled for Saturday, May 15, from 3 — 9 PM. Shuttle buses from the Chelsea gallery district will be available.

Escape From New York will be open to the public each weekend 11 AM — 6 PM, from May 15 through June 19, 2010, at 24 1/2 Van Houten Street, Paterson, New Jersey. The exhibition will be located on the second, fourth and fifth floors of the building.

Just curious, but why isn’t the artists list in alphabetical order? Just wondering….

Escape from New York was ridiculous. I sighed relief when I escaped from Paterson. WTF?

Awesome! My first negative reaction to the show! Glad you had fun, JJ. 🙂 PS– #efny is not ridiculous, but INSANE. Get it right.

What can I say? The real site to see at this exhibit is a gal named Olympia Lambert. She really puts the easy in sleazy. Never before have I ever met such a skanky warpig and that is being polite.

She's definately should have her own show in Times Square if you know what i mean. heh
