I hope that the NY auditioners had the benefit of such art world luminaries judging their work. I heard that Chicago was judged by members of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's admissions staff. What a joke!

I can back up what the first round judge said. The first round weeded out a lot of poser, mediocre, Sunday-painter stuff. And I spotted some not so attractive people advancing to the second round (not to be rude)

Reminds me a little like New American Paintings as if it were a TV show. Now only if I can see this years' results then I can determine whether it's worth watching.

Paddy,
thanks for the props, and yes I was "stretching" a bit, but it's amazing how the threats of "calling the police" went away once people know they're being "videoed".

Also, for the sake of clarification, I didn't claim to be "the best and most well read art blog" (I'm a dinky midget compared to you giants), but popular and exciting art "vlog".

Stay tuned for the two part "Report".

As one of the first round judges I can safely say that "looking the part" was not what got you through to the final round of judging. I spent the afternoon reviewing each potential contestants work, talking with them and based on their work sent them on to the second round of judging.
