Superstar curator Hans Ulrich Obrist may need to permanently station himself outside the Art Lobby due to his intense speaking schedule at Art Basel Conversations.  A few of the good panels have already taken place—A Brief History of Curating with Lionel Bovier, Director of JRP/Ringier, Zurich, and curators Christophe Cherix and Hans Ulrich Obrist, as well as Curating The Collectors, with Elmgreen and Dragset, Artists, Berlin/London and Artists/Curators of the Danish and Nordic Pavilions at this year’s Biennale—but we have a few more recommendations. Our list after the jump.

FRIDAY

The Future of the Museum | Digital Frontiers
What are the limits of using digital techniques in order to experience a specific artwork, a whole exhibition, a permanent collection, a guided tour or an artist talk? Will shipping artworks around the world be obsolete in future times? What are the needs and requirements of the digital artworld?
What are the specific differences between physical and virtual museums?
Does the virtual possibility, e.g. following the installation of an exhibition online, compete with experiencing the museum and artwork itself and in real time? Will physical museums establish a parallel identity while forming a virtual museum online? Will virtual museum visits compete with or complement real visits? Will there be a digital revolution in the field of museums?
