Lately at AFC Headquarters we’ve noticed a stunning array of weird portraits. Running in the form of blogs and fine art projects, we’ve compiled a selection of the finest oddities.

Jamie Diamond, “The Hiltons,” 2008. Archival pigment print, 40 x 60 in. Image via: Moeller Snow Gallery
Jamie Diamond composes her Constructed Portraits by issuing casting calls and advertisements, matching various unrelated individuals in her “family” photos. We know the perfect center piece for that table.

Although Lazer Portraits initially made a pun about “blazers and lasers,” we thought this little guy looks like the son of Diane Arbus’ grenade boy.

Alana Celii, “Lazer Face,” 1994-1995
Uncannily related to the Lazer Portrait boy above, photographer Alana Celii’s Lazer Face pairs a couple peculiar self portraits from her childhood.

Tim Gardner, “Family Portrait 1,” 2005. Pastel on gessoed paper mounted on canvas. 38 x 48 1/4 in. Image via: 303 Gallery
The weirdest part about this portrait may be its components: pastel on gessoed paper.

I guess some net artists did go to their highschool proms.

The Plumbers Union, Poker Club, and Tax Financial Planning Group immortalized forever.
