We’ve got a lot of travel preparation to take care of at the AFC HQ today so posting may be a bit light today and tomorrow. A few links of interest.
- Artnet reports The Rhode Island School of Design slashes their budget in order to deal with their diminishing endowment. This includes slashing their museum staff and closing for the month of August. As it turns out RISD president John Maeda also has a twitter account.
- In that same article artnet also notes the College Art Association makes cut backs, most significantly to their annual conference, which will be one day shorter, and to their grant programs. Now suspended, are three grant-making programs for 2009-10: the “Professional Development Fellowship Program” for graduate students; the “Millard Meiss Publication Fund” to support art-history manuscripts; and the “CAA Annual Exhibition” grant.
