Matt Held Discovers Power of Vanity Coupled with Social Networking

Don’t have a good picture of yourself on your Facebook profile? Matt Held probably won’t solve that problem for you directly — he’s just painting from the pictures already on your profile — but fear that the interpretation might not be flattering will likely set your photo finding wheels in motion. I expect however, most of us who have signed up have a bit of time to play with before we receive our picture; the artist’s facebook group “I’ll have my facebook portrait painted by Matt Held” already has close to 500 members.  Were this a for profit venture, the studio would have already had to hire several assistants. Not bad for a project that began simply out of the artists desire to master skin tone.
