Hello recession friendly art! Art Fag City’s Deal of the Week Award goes to Carol Taveras’s five buck Portrait Studio. A professional photographer whose work has appeared in The Guardian, Culture + Travel, French Glamour, and the New York Times Magazine, the artist now offers to take a 4.5 inch Polaroid portrait to friends, neighbors and passerbys.  If you like what you get, you can upgrade your five buck portrait to the 20 dollar 8 x 10 version, a photograph perfect for every parent’s wall!

Photo Studio is located on 539 Atlantic Avenue Brooklyn between 3rd and 4th. Hours are Tuesday through Friday 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm and Saturday through Sunday 12:00 pm through 5:00 pm.   Through February 11, 2009
