Maybe it is the story of that artist's life but I would have preferred bagel and nova (mini version across the street for $3.95) or even a Jasper Johns. I thought POP was redundant but it seems to be back again. For me, I question what is relevant today and does it matter? Maybe art should not be relevant. A thought. I always thought this following paragraph was worthy of thought: Now,what is music? This question occupied me for hours before I fell asleep last night. Music is a strange thing. I would almost say it is a miracle. For it stands halfway between thought and phenomenon, between spirit and matter, a sort of nebulous mediator, like and unlike each of the things it mediates, spirit that requires manifestation in time and matter that can do without space. We do not know what music is.- Heinrich Heine, _Letters in the French Stage_, quoted in_ Opera in America_ by John Dizikes,Yale University Press | c an we apply this also to art?

I think of Oldenberg when I see the ham sandwich above or maybe
Andy Warhol but it looks to me as if the ham in the sandwich is
a folded cocktail napkin.
