I’m not sure one additional week’s pay would be enough to keep me from working with the competition for a year in the face of a layoff, but I’m told this is the minimum Christie’s has offered some executives in exchange for signing such a contract. Meanwhile, sources say the company may have more bad news in store for employees; in the past layoffs came in waves so as not to make the cuts appear so deep, so many expect the worst is yet to come.
