Editor’s note: I know I promised a fully rotating Damien Hirst skull should I exceed my fundraising goal on the blog, but lacking a shot of the back of the artist's diamond skull I was only able to execute a 180 degree rotation. Still, I think the gif more or less communicates the point.
Hurray! Thanks to the generosity of Art Fag City readers, I will not only be able to maintain the blog but add a few features over the course of the upcoming year such as a new AFC newsletter complete with post summaries and gallery recommendations. Contributions exceeded the $6,000 target, netting more than $7,600 in seven business days!
As I mentioned previously, it’s difficult to express how deeply touching your support has been, particularly without turning into a giant cornball. Launching the fundraiser was one of the most difficult things I’ve ever done — touching nearly every insecurity a blogger is likely to harbor — and you all made it a lot easier. I’d like to thank MomentaArt, who umbrella’d the blog’s fundraiser under their non-profit status, and Art Fag City readers for this coming year. I literally couldn’t do it without you.
