Ana Tzarev, Heron Maiden, 2005, Oil on linen, 76 3/4 x 76 3/4 inches
I’m surprised The New York Observer found Ana Tzarev worthy of a 600 word feature by Sheila McClear. Tzarev owns a giant vanity gallery dedicated to the exclusive exhibition of her work, she didn’t attend her own opening this month, and for some reason the business describes her inaugural show as a “soft launch”. It’s bizarro world no doubt, but the atypical is also typical of vanity galleries. Where’s the rest of the story? Via: MetroColorCollision
