I guess it was just a matter of time before artist and director Julian Schnabel earned enough celebrity status to have his name turned into a contraction. Following in the footsteps of Bennifer (Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez) and Brangelina (Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie), Schnabel is so closely coupled with his new line of beach towels designed for Target, the item has been christened a Schnowel (either by The Daily Intel or Target themselves, we’re not sure which). Intel laments the decision to use his Navigation Drawings over an image of the artist himself, the Chupa, or Stella’s boyfriend’s penis; clearly a miscalculation! Of course, if the Schnowel becomes a household name as a result of this keen marketing, it’s only a matter of time before the artist’s Big Girl paintings are offered as giant sized rugs. At that point the art world can introduce the word Schnug into their vocabulary.
