My apologies, Paddy and all, for saying that you can click on the Petra Cortright page on Club Internet and have it take you to the rest of her piece. That may be the case on some browsers but not mine (Firefox 2 on Windows XP), I just realized.

Her page /system_landscapes_1 appears different on her own site than on Club Internet.

On the Club page the busy animated background with browser screenshots and such, which contains the links to her other system_landscapes pages, does not appear. It is just black, as shown in Paddy's screenshot above. This is either something in the coding of Club Internet or the curator has done a rather minimal remix of the Petra Cortright work.

Yeah, it's clear where to find the original work location, the liberation from permalinks was more a comment about the exhibition url. I think your description of the exhibition as an event is appropriate.

> 'there is no unique url for each exhibition'
the different shows deliberately don't have a link to refer to, you either see a show when it's on, or you miss it. it's an event!

> 'Does it really need liberation from permalinks?'
all the works themselves do have a link to their original location (the permalink) in the white box next to the magic wand.

Oh of course - she showed that at the Net Aesthetics panel discussion. [redacted] comment edited on account of the fact that exhibition shows only one page of a larger piece.

If you keep clicking the Petra Cortright piece (anywhere on the page, I think) it takes you through about 20 pages of artwork.

E.g., this page that I linked to on my blog a while back:
