I’m imposing Canada Day celebrations on this blog. As a Canadian it seems only appropriate.
- 1 41 – Not too shabby eh? Thomas Walkom reflects on Canada’s 141th birthday for the Toronto Star. He thinks Canada’s survived conservative Prime Minister Stephen Harper, which frankly remains to be seen, but whatever. He also identifies Canadian writers as pessimists, so perhaps I’m just living up to the national character.
- What’s the score eh? Test your American and Canadian history on Canada Day. Via The Globe and Mail.
- The Walrus, a Canadian publication covering environmental issues, politics, arts, and culture has a great collage essay up by Sergei Sviatchenko
- Half of the People Are Stoned and the Other Half Are Waiting for the Next Election. A unique American homage to the current Canadian political climate speaking specifically to American politics? I’m attending this screening at Light Industry tonight, and in light of this, the event receives honorary Canadian status.
- What could be more Canadian than this?
