I’m working on a response to the Net Aesthetics 2.0 discussion panel that occurred last Friday, but for the two nerds who haven’t already seen it, a discussion on the subject took place over the weekend on Rhizome.

Looking forward to it, and I totally missed the rhizome comment thread so thanks for the link.

There are several post-panel threads.
In addition to the one you cited there is the “webcast thread”:

and the “Surfclubbers are hipsters” thread:

I’m looking forward to your response, Paddy. I’d also like to see the panel video once its up. The discussion threads are pretty irritating. I’m getting crankier as I get older. Are there any women chiming in on those rhizome threads? It seems not, but I don’t want to make assumptions based on people’s handles. The discussion reminds me of olden days automobile tech nerds, full of ideology about the motor car’s democratizing potential while at the same time bitter that regular consumer-types are just using them as tools for getting groceries and clogging up the roads.

Sally: I don’t think there are any women participating and I agree, those threads are annoying. That’s a perfect metaphor.
