NBC Fights Lifetime on “Runway”
In a stunning network hop, Lifetime (home of the Golden Girls) announced Monday that The Weinstein Co. has signed a five-year deal with the femme-centric cabler to take over the show – cable's top-rated reality skein – effective this November. BC and Bravo aren't letting “Project Runway” jump to Lifetime without a fight and have filed suit in New York Supreme Court against “Project Runway” producer The Weinstein Co., arguing that the shingle denied NBC and its Bravo cabler a right of first refusal for the show.
