I read his curator's statement. Thanks for highlighting this. I don't know what to think. I'm so anti-Eggers that I don't know if I can even trust myself to assess it correctly. Of course, I should see the show, but I don't live there. It's just... why did he have to go on and on so? And provide discussion questions? On the other hand... I love that stuff from almost anyone else. I just don't trust Eggers not to have some horribly precious agenda. And why does he get to curate a show, anyway? What, fame is qualification enough? I almost wish I could have seen his materials without his name attached, but his name is the main thing he brings to the table for Apex, so that's impossible. Eggers drives me insane. The apexart gallery is a small space, and it was packed, we couldn't let everybody in & had to rotate people out so other people could come in. I know how frustrating it is to have to stand outside and not get in, or wait a long time. but I hope you go back and check out the show, there's a wide variety of work, all of it funny and engaging -- I'm biased that way, I'm in the show.
