David Zwirner, owner of one of the most successful galleries in Chelsea, has been making a few renovations to his residence in the Lower East Side.  It would appear his neighbors aren’t thrilled with his activities however, as evidenced by a new blog titled Dear David Zwirner.  A typical entry from the blog reads;

Talking to people on 12th and 13th Sts., it’s always striking how much people dislike having the Zwirners as neighbors.

It must be strange making a home while surrounded by folks that absolutely hate you.

I think it’s just terrible how a gal like me who stays up all night working in an emergency room helping the poor is forced to stay awake all day listening to construction noise from that “mega-mansion.”

The blog, chronicles the complaints made by the dealers neighbors who have become increasingly upset over the dealers construction of new properties which will block the sun into their homes.  According to the blog’s editors, Zwirner has not responded to numerous letters alerting him to the fact that his massive 14,000 square foot mansion will imped upon the quality of life in the adjacent 300 square foot apartments. His Architects at Selldorf however have sent a letter explaining that by law they could have expanded further, but didn’t out of courtesy. Zwirner’s generosity clearly knows no end.
