Speaking of Gimme More, if you wish to see a less artful use of the new single John Connelly’s latest show by Scott Hug, Too Much, Too Little, Too Late features a disco room with smoke machine, silkscreened portraits of celebrities with well meaning or banal text and a projected rotating Mac beachball. The exhibition fails on so many levels I’ve lost count, but to sum up the underlying problem; there’s really no point in issuing a critique of pop media if your only message is false morality = bad. The Superficial offers deeper introspection than this show.
