I’d like to discuss VVORK’s upcoming curatorial effort for Galerie West in the Hague, but the press release fails to list the works on display or provide any captioning information for the 80 pixel wide images used to promote the participating artists. However should anyone have any question about the curators, the gallery dedicates several hundred words to their four person art blog. Even the title of the show, simply the last names of the ten participating artists, is attributed to the website: “the logic of the title extends directly from the illogic of the blog.” I am a big fan of VVORK, but they could have managed their press release a little better. After all if the exhibition were truly modeled from the site, we’d be reading about the artists, not the curators.

Update: VVORK posts five million pictures documenting their show.

If the exhibition were truly modeled from the site, we wouldn’t be reading much of anything

Ha Ha. I’m the one who was asked to write the essay (not a press release) and that little contradiction was a bit problematic for me too.
