MOMA and PS1 have a new program of events titled PopRally which thus makes them the hippest musuem in the city. While it’s certain you’ll have to wade your way through the hipsters see Chicks on Speed perform in the sculpture garden at Moma I anticipate it will be worth the time spent. The band itself provides the most compelling argument for this, as their personal invite on the MoMA website urge listeners to attend overdressed and sarcastically refers to themselves as “living sculpture”. Self awareness is a beautiful thing.
While there you can drink cocktails and attend Douglas Gordon’s retrospective Timeline. According to the press release, we will all have the chance to experience how the video artist “sculpts time”. I’m anticipating having my mind “blown”.
