The Museum of Moving Image has announced it will be screening the reality TV show Art Star, which is backed by Jeffery Deitch on Friday May 12th. The concept: Eight artists compete for a chance for a solo show at Deitch Projects. The whole thing is rather sickening, and yet, like staring into the sun I. can’t. look. away. I think a building would have to fall on my head to facilitate my missing this screening. Much to my disappointment the museum will only be showing the first episode, but there will be a discussion to follow, with Jeffrey Deitch, producers Abby Terkhule and Tamar Hacker and the cast.
