Hot New Media Chicks Talk About Art With Some Dudes

by Art Fag City on February 6, 2006 Events

As you may have noticed, I have updated the AFC recommends column to your right. Do take a minute to check out some of the links because here at AFC we want the Internet to be a vast resource at your finger tips. Or something.

And now, in an effort to forever turn Art Fag City into the listing service we’ve always dreamed of becoming, I invite you to consider yet another event worth attending. Look forward to some actual reviews later on in the week.

This panel discussion will provide you with the opportunity to hear hot new media chicks Lauren Cornell (moderator), Marisa Olson, and Caitlin Jones discuss performance, contagion, sampling, blogging, video and animation, and the challenges of translating Internet-based art into gallery and museum spaces, with artists Cory Arcangel and Michael Bell-Smith and curator Michael Connor. I would think that this conversation would be particularly relevant to the increasing number of artists whom have picked up blogging as a medium for written expression over the last couple of months.
